Happy 7th Birthday to my Ry!

Yup, you heard right, my Riley turned 7 years old on Friday, I am officially a mom to a 7 year old. He is so mature. He is so child-like. He is so normal in ways and he is so unique. He is so challenging but he has built so much character. He is so loving. He is so boyish and loves his bike, football, video games and being outdoors. He is so intelligent and can read so well between lines. He is still a cuddle bug when he wants to and on his time. He is still an insecure little boy and needs his parents occasionally but I am really seeing him test the waters himself. He values our opinion but does not necessarily have the same one. He is an individual. He is my helper. He is responsible. He will always hold a special place in my heart, he is my little guy who made me a mom. We've laughed and cried together, I've made so many mistakes and learned through him. I've learned what it is to live a self centered life and a family centered life- it all started with him. He is exactly how God made him. On his birthday this year Special K took him to breakfast before school, and I made him rainbow cupcakes to take to school. We had a house full of 10 kids that Friday evening and we had a blast celebrating his big day. We made sure to tell him the story of his birth, we showed him some home movies of the day he was born- he was embarrassed to see Special K changing his first diaper *ever* and to see his Nana giving him his first bath. We told him the story of how he met Conner- one of his favorite stories (and Con's fav part is how he was a lot bigger than Riley). I made him his favorite food- Dorito Casserole, corn and green beans for dinner and we stayed up well into the night. It was a pretty awesome 7th birthday (and mom anniversary) if I have to say so myself. He did let me take a pic of him, I have had several clients this weekend, so I am behind on editing personal pictures, but I will get that up soon.
